My Story
Hi, I’m Ibrahim Kamel — Egyptian, student, swimmer, and someone who believes sport can be a force for good.
I’m launching this initiative at 16 years old — born August 26, 2009 — in 10th grade at Cairo American College in Maadi with a GPA of 4.19/4.3.
Swimming has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My parents had me in the pool at age one, and I swam consistently until I was ten — then I quit. I hated it. It felt boring and brutal.
Over the next few years, I tried other sports: squash, Muay Thai, and more. Eventually, life led me back to the sport I once dreaded — but this time, on my own terms.
I fell in love with swimming. I started training seriously, competing nationally with my club and internationally with my school — and getting faster.
Why This Mission
As I trained, I began to see how privileged I was — access to elite coaching, global competitions, and the best education possible. Not everyone gets that. Many kids in Egypt don’t even have access to basic schooling.
That didn’t sit right with me.
Swimming couldn’t just be about me. I needed it to mean something more. I wanted to use my effort — the early wake-ups, the double training sessions, the discipline — to create opportunity for someone else.
This is my way of doing that.
I’m using what I have — my swimming — to help fund education for aspiring kids in Egypt.
My Life
My days start at 5:00am in the pool before school. After class, I swim again, hit the gym, study, and sleep early. It’s intense — and I love it.
It’s also everything I have to give back.
